Review of Trek Carbon Bikes: Concept 9 Series

Everybody is looking for the fastest bike, right? That’s why carbon road bikes were invented in the first place. Triathletes were looking for any edge to shave off minutes or even seconds off their time.  This particular series of Trek carbon road bikes are probably the fastest bikes on the planet and will shave plenty of time.
In the time-trials this family of bikes came out the fastest. Why would that be so?  This series of ultra light-weight carbon road bikes fully justify Trek’s claims due to the aerodynamic tubing and parts integration.. How does Trek base its claim? Trek cites wind tunnel data to support its claim to have the world’s fastest bikes. So far, no other company has come forward to claim otherwise, so those wanting a fast triathlon bike would be well-advised to purchase Trek’s carbon road bike.
This series of carbon road bikes prove to be so aerodynamic partly because of their exceptional shape and partly because of how well the constituent parts of the bike are integrated to form an extraordinary whole.  The Kammtail shape of these bikes  has sometimes been described as a “chopped-down teardrop.” Especially aerodynamic, this shape in the down tube, seat tube, stays and fork blade maintains smooth airflow since it makes the bike lighter, stiffer and more stable in crosswinds. For the triathlete, of course, winds hindering speed are the greatest obstacle and this bike solves that issue rather neatly.
The constituent parts of these Trek carbon road bikes integrate cleanly with this aerodynamic shape.  Thus, the  integrated brakes, shifter cables, electronic sensors, storage compartments and skewers are all inside or flush with the frame, thus protecting them from the wind.  Again, the triathlete will bless this bike when encountering any kind of wind. Also, should any mechanical difficulties arise the bikes do have the tool box necessary for any distance biker. In this instance the rear wheel shroud conveniently doubles as a tool box.  Trek also offers an optional speed-and-cadence sensor embedded in the chain stay which will  sync  with any computer and power meter. The clever designers of this carbon road bike have evidently thought of everything.
Trek’s Concept 9 series of carbon road bikes is a fantasy come true. . Trek has taken existing technology and tweaked it to the max for the serious athlete. These Trek carbon bikes really have no competition in the marketplace.  So, if you are a triathlete or serious, serious bike enthusiast, these Trek carbon bikes will offer you an opportunity to improve your performance substantially.
That does, of course, depend on your pocketbook as this bike is plenty pricey. Be prepared to spend between $5500 and $8500 for any carbon bike in this series. Is the price  worth it? If you want the absolute best bike for the triathlete,  a Trek carbon road bike is well worth the investment. Just do it.
